Neighborhood Housing Services of New Orleans (NHS) was founded in 1976 as a private, non-profit housing corporation with the belief that a partnership between local residents, financial institutions, businesses, and local government can stop decline, promote reinvestment, and restore pride and confidence in urban neighborhoods.
Our mission is to revitalize communities by increasing the number of homeowners and transforming vacant or substandard properties into sustainable homeownership, and to improve quality of life through informed community building initiatives, leadership development, education, outreach and collaboration.

NHS is a full-service housing agency: current programs include pre-purchase homebuyer counseling and training, loan modification/foreclosure prevention counseling, construction manangement services and affordable housing development
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
NHS is a one-stop shop for all of your housing needs.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
NHS currently has one central office but our services and resources are mobile.

NHS is located on the corner of Freret and Cadiz Streets (two blocks from Napolean Avenue).
What type of payments do you accept?
Check or money order; electronic payment services will be accepted in near future.

NHS is a private, non-profit organization and a NeighborWorks affiliate.
